![]() ![]() Well I believe there’s no rule about it, things happen and people change, there’s no big plan. ![]() Yes, there were many changes and I’ve played solo for a while on my solo project. But in that period you’ve started your own project and your brother played in Arch enemy. In 2010 you included new members into the band, released a new album. You’ve started your own project before that and Armageddon started around 1999. What’s the cooperation with your brother like? As you played in Arch Enemy, and at one point you left that band. But before that occasion I haven’t played in Japan. There were offers to come to Russia, but actually it’s up to the promotor to arrange the schedule to be financially and timing-wise OK. Yeah, we haven’t played in Europe as there’s no market for it. Because I went to that show to see them and was surprised. Was it the arrangement for the whole tour? As I haven’t seen the band in Europe. You went on a tour with Black Earth in Japan. I also want to ask you about your brother. Not so much, we have several very different songs but the vocals are mostly clean. So him and me and a vocalist are working on some new Metal music. I have a new project in USA with a drummer called John Lonstight, he plays in a Maragle Origin. Last tour was last year, in March and it was my first tour with them. They just give me dates and ask am I available so we set the details according to that.ĭo you like it, that kind or arrangements? Now you are a session guitarist for this tour or what’s the arrangement- you are the regular member of the band or? Three weeks ago they have enlisted you for this tour. But I don’t remember the details…so many shows over the years. I don’t remember exactly, I think it was Zagreb, we had a show around 2010. In 2010, Amott revealed that he would be releasing a solo album early in the year entitled 'Follow Your Heart'.This is your second time in Croatia, as I believe you came once with your brother? He now spent the next two years teaching music in Sweden, as well as attending a university. In 2005, "Arch Enemy" released, 'Doomsday Machine', but immediately after the recording, Amott left the band. This album featured Amott as lead vocals. After completing an extensive world tour with "Arch Enemy", Amott returned to his "Armageddon" project, and released 'Three' in 2002. In 2001, "Arch Enemy" were joined by new singer Angela Gossow, and the band reached new heights in worldwide popularity with the release of 'Wages of Sin'. This time featuring a melodic singer, and more of an overall power metal feel, the album was a drastic shift from the straight ahead melodic death metal, and marked Amott's desire to branch out of the extreme metal genre. In 1999, with "Arch Enemy" gaining ground worldwide, Amott would go on to release 'Burning Bridges' and 'Burning Japan Live 1999', then take a break until the later part of 2000, when "Armageddon" released their second album 'Embrace the Mystery' in Japan. "Armageddon" released their first debut album 'Crossing the Rubicon' in 1997. The project began as a melodic death metal band, similar in style to "Arch Enemy", but with a more conceptual feel to the lyrics. In 1997, the band were invited to play in Japan, and it was there that Amott secured a deal for his "Armageddon" side project. The 'Black Earth' album was released in Japan, and was an instant hit, receiving regular airplay on Japanese MTV. While attending music school in 1996, Amott's brother Michael asked him to record solos for his new melodic death metal project "Arch Enemy". His style of playing consist of aggressive, fast vibrato, speedy alternate-picking and fluid lead lines. ![]() History: Inspired by his older brother Michael Amott's band "Carcass", Christopher began studying the guitar at 14, playing in local bands, and eventually attending music college at age 18.
